In supported living they are separate: the person holds a tenancy and the care provider supports them. If the support changes, they do not lose their home.<\/p>\n<h2>What support looks like<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Budgeting and paying bills<\/li>\n<li>Cooking, shopping and keeping the home<\/li>\n<li>Medication and health appointments<\/li>\n<li>Building confidence, friendships and community links<\/li>\n<li>Education, volunteering and work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to get supported living<\/h2>\n<p>Most placements are arranged through a social worker after a needs assessment. Families and individuals can also contact us directly to discuss options.<\/p>\n<h2>A typical week in supported living<\/h2>\n<p>Support is planned around the person&#8217;s own goals. A week might include help with a weekly food shop, budgeting on payday, support to attend a college course, a trip to the gym and time with friends. The aim is to do things with people, not for them.<\/p>\n<h2>Moving into supported living<\/h2>\n<p>Moves are planned carefully. We meet the person several times, get to know their routines and the people who matter to them, and agree a transition plan so the move feels safe and gradual.<\/p>\n<h2>Measuring progress<\/h2>\n<p>Support plans are reviewed regularly with the person and the professionals involved, so that support can reduce as skills and confidence grow.<\/p>\n<h2>Frequently asked questions<\/h2>\n<h3>Is supported living regulated?<\/h3>\n<p>The personal care part is regulated by the Care Quality Commission.<\/p>\n<h3>Can someone share a house?<\/h3>\n<p>Yes.
