What is dementia?
Memory can be affected by stress, tiredness, some illnesses and some medicines. If you are becoming more forgetful, especially if you are over 65, it is a good idea to talk to your GP about the early signs of dementia.
Dementia is a group of related symptoms linked to an ongoing decline in how the brain works. It is not only about memory loss: it can also affect the way a person speaks, thinks, feels and behaves. Dementia is not a natural part of ageing, and there are many different causes and types.
